Wenn Du auf die gehst ("Foren-Übersicht"), gibt's rechts unterm Datum von "Dein letzter Besuch" die Funktion "Alle Foren als gelesen markieren".

Klick das mal...danach werden alle neuen Beiträge, die seit Deinem letzten Besuch geschrieben wurden, rot markiert. Die rote Markierung verschwindet, wenn Du die entsprechenden Beiträge gelesen hast. Ist in etwa das selbe wie "Ungelesene Beiträge anzeigen".

Sowas meinst Du doch, oder?

das abschalten der letzten geschriebenen beiträge gefällt mir aus dem gleichen grunde nicht, da es mir unabhängig vom 'aktive themen' anklicken einen schnellen überblick erlaubt, ob und wenn ja ein neuer beitrag eingestellt wurde. die forensoftware sollte es hergeben, die letzten neuen beiträge nur für eingeloggte user sichtbar zu machen (evtl. als 'neue beiträge seit dem einloggen'). dadurch wäre auch die diskussion darüber, ob mitlesende, interessierte 'neulinge' verwirrt werden hinfällig.

beides gemeinsam erlaubt dem eingeloggten user imho eine strukturierte gesamtübersicht über neue beiträge, ohne dass sie überlesen werden.

die neuanordnung der themen finde ich (soweit sie mir auffällt...), sinnvoll.

Als Gast bleiben die außen vor, das solltest Du bitte umstellen. So wäre mir beinahe der Eintrag von Chinaskis 100. alkfreien Tag durchgegangen.

Ansonsten ist das ein verblüffend guter Ansatz so. *find*
Beim Aufräumen der Startseite habe ich nur die Idee von betalbatim weiter gesponnen, auch von mir einen herzlichen Dank für diese Anregung!

Im Ernst, für dieses Forum wäre ein geschützter Bereich eher kontraproduktiv, glaube ich. Wenn man Themen hat, die man nicht öffentlich machen möchte, ist man in Spezialforen mit solch einer Struktur besser aufgehoben. Das gibt sonst so einen Psycho-Misch-Masch, wo Anfang und Ende nicht mehr zu sehen sind. Es würde den Rahmen sprengen.

Ich finde es gut so, wie es ist.
