Vermutlich ist damit das Ergebnis einer Studie zur Wirksamkeit von Mammographien gemeint. Siehe die Ausführungen des in der (Min. 9:13 – 10:23).
(Nebenbei: Ich finde das gesamte Gespräch interessant. Insbesondere seine Aussagen zu Boston/Statistik/Risiko.)

Das Ergebnis der Studie war wohl folgendes:

Von 1.000 Frauen, welche (alle empfohlenen?) Mammographie-Screenings an sich haben durchführen lassen, verstarben später 4 an Brustkrebs.

Von 1.000 Frauen (Vergleichsgruppe), welche keine (niemals?) diese Untersuchungen haben an sich durchführen lassen, verstarben später 5 an Brustkrebs.

Da fast keiner diesen Hintergrund kennt, bleibt irgendwo im Hinterkopf lediglich hängen, dass man eine 20 %ig (bzw. aufgerundet eher 30 %ig) größere Überlebenschance bei Brustkrebs hat, wenn Frau nur redlich alle Sreenings durchführen lässt. [unknown]

P.S. Hier sein in der Sendung vorgestelltes neuestes Buch (Link zu Amazon). Finde, es klingt auch interessant und zumindest teilweise passend zum Statistikthema.
